COVID-19: Medical Relief with Basic Series

Unlike other countries that have begun to let their guard down from the pandemic, Indonesia is in a state of emergency due to the ascending number of new cases every day. The prophet Muhammad said: “Whoever helps ease one in difficulty, Allah will make it easy for him in this world and the Hereafter. Allah helps the servant as long as he helps his brother(Hadith, Sahih Muslim)

The COVID-19 pandemic is a situation, unlike anything we’ve faced before. The spread of the virus which started in early-2020 has caused millions of Indonesians to be infected and tens of thousands have lost their lives. As of 20 July 2021, the number of COVID-19 cases in the country is increasing by up to nearly 51,000 a day.

Hospitals in various parts of Indonesia are full. Several hospitals in Greater Jakarta have even closed services for patients with other health complaints. Health workers are overwhelmed, infected patients with mild or no symptoms are forced to self-isolate at home.

However, not all of them can afford decent medical assistance from home whereas their condition needs to remain stable without getting worse. In fact, more than 2,300 patients died during self-isolation.
